the conclusion that I can make about film titles is that in most title sequences, titles usually follow an orderly fashion.

This is the ordered fashion that is mostly used in films:

1 - Ident (screen gems)
2 - Ident also in the title
3- The production company
4 - The title of the film
5 - Titles consisting of the actor that appear in the film, starting with the main actors
6 - The casting by
7 - Costume designer
8 - Music supervisor
9 - Music by
10 - Edited by
11 - Production designer
12 - Director of photography
13 - Executive producer
14 - Director

The font styles of the titles depends on each film. By changing the font styles and sizes it shows the genre of the film and sets the tone. For example, in the movie se7en, which is a psycological thriller, has it's font to looks  quite rough and disturbing, as it is meant to be the handwriting of the serial killer in the film.
